Shaw Lane 0, Lancaster City 0
It was stalemate at the Giant Axe as the Ducks recorded their first draw since the end of January.
With the sun shining and the pitch at Lancaster in great condition the game was almost played out like a pre-season friendly, and both sides will be happy not to lose this game.
Chances were at a premium in the first half and Lancaster had the first effort on 17 minutes when Sam Bailey hit an effort from long range which was collected easily by Ed Wilczynski in the Ducks goal.
The 'home' side came into the game on 38 minutes when they won a corner following a deflected David Norris shot. The corner by Alex Byrne was flicked on by Jake Skelton and a half clearance fell to Paul Clayton whose looping header was tipped over by Elliot Wynne. The following corner was then headed over by Kieran Lugsden.
In the second half the game picked up some pace and a Byrne effort from distance hit subsitute Chib Chilaka, who was standing in an offside position on 56 minutes.
Lancaster came into the game with an effort blocked on the line by Lugsden following a Craig Carney strike on 62 minutes.
Arguably the best chance fell to sub Tyler Williams on 74 minutes when he played through into the box after a squared pass by fellow sub Damian Reeves. Williams, one on one with Wynne, shot straight at the keeper who made the save.
It was a dramatic last few minutes with chances at both ends. First Byrne had an effort palmed away by Wynne after the winger turned and shot on the left side of the area.
Then, from the resulting breakaway up field, a trip by stand-in captain David Norris saw Paul Dugdale go for goal from 25 yards. His free-kick was palmed onto the post by Wilczynski who was at full stretch.
